Strength Whispers

Strength comes in many forms. Whisenflow was born from a belief that the most beautiful climbing is not always the loudest. That grace, flow and quiet intention carry a climber just as far as raw power — often further.

Body awareness. Balance. An instinct for the subtle. These are not consolation prizes for those who haven't built brute strength — they are the foundation of climbing.

About me

About me

Amanda

Hi! I started climbing in 2011 at a local bouldering competition. Since then I've climbed all around the world, tried almost every style, and found what I love — and what I don't.

Through my own experiences with fear, I learned that onsighting was never something I could enjoy. Pushing through fear on an unfamiliar climb felt so unnatural. A primal fear would overtake me. I could push through it, take the falls — but I didn't enjoy it. So what was the point?

I found my love of climbing again at a local cave. The steep, bouldery moves suited my style, my fear reduced, and I found a crew I could be myself around — try, fail, and even cry with.

I started working routes well above my limit, going bolt to bolt, slowly putting them together. Failing for months before finally getting the send. I love the process, the journey, the progress — sometimes even more than the send itself.

Climbing the same routes every week taught me a lot about my body and my cycle. All of my biggest sends happened when I was on my period — I feel stronger, braver and calmer. In the days before, I feel weak, emotional and anxious. Once I understood that, I stopped fighting my body on the hard days and learnt to maximise the good days.

I want everyone to know that you can climb your own way. Your achievements are your own, and they do not need to look like anyone else's.

The best kind of climbing is the kind that makes you feel strong, fulfilled and excited to come back for more.
